"Our priorities highlight urgent areas of focus which will help residents recover from this devastating pandemic. Our natural environment, so beneficial for wellbeing, needs to be central in our thinking.

As a long-term trustee at Hayle Park Nature Reserve, I am a passionate advocate for nature. I have developed wildflower pollinator sites on local greenspace, increasing biodiversity while countering the impact of agricultural chemical use, set up large tree planting schemes and successfully campaigned to protect South Maidstone's valued landscapes within Maidstone's Local Plan.

We need to improve energy efficiency in buildings and develop new green energy proposals, such as solar panels in schools, to benefit the environment and reduce costs.

We also urgently need to work with districts to install electric car charging points and to implement air-quality improvement plans in pollution hotspots. In the coming years I will be building on my work to reduce congestion at some of South Maidstone's key junctions, including the Wheatsheaf and Armstrong Road."
